Testimonials
How Moonj Craft is Made
Harvesting
Moonj grass is hand-cut from the riverbanks during the right season, when the stalks are strong and mature.
Drying
The grass is spread out in the sun and dried naturally for several days until it reaches the right flexibility.
Sorting & Splitting
Artisans sort the grass by thickness and split the strands by hand to get consistent, workable fibres.
Soaking
Before weaving, the fibres are soaked in water to make them pliable and easy to shape.
Weaving & Shaping
Using traditional techniques passed down over generations, artisans coil, weave, and bind the fibres by hand.
Finishing
Products are dried, trimmed, and quality-checked. Some pieces receive natural dyes or decorative accents.
Ready for You
Each piece is packed with care and sent on its way to a new home.
Back to Earth
Every piece is 100% biodegradable.
